I am a Christian, wife, mother, sister, aunt, dental assistant before becoming a stay at home mom and now a blogger! I am also a southern belle who sometimes can be a little too honest. My husband and I love the Lord and look to him everyday for guidance through this crazy thing called life. We became parents through adoption! We have the most beautiful daughter, Lakelyn. Since Adoption was placed on our hearts, I have felt called to share our story. Now, I am not an english major and do not expect to always be grammatically correct so please don't feel the need to point out those grammatical errors! I started this blog to share our story on adoption, give a glimpse into our crazy life and get to actually know a little bit more about the fronings!
My Husband
Rich and I met my sophomore year of college at Tennessee Tech University. We went to high school together and actually had lots of mutual friends but our paths never crossed until a summer in college. Its really funny, actually. We didn't meet at a CrossFit gym or a summer get together. We met while getting our hair done. Thats right… a salon! I managed a local tanning salon and Rich worked at the fire department. We both had Saturday 8am hair appointments given our busy schedules. I knew who he was even though we had never had an actual conversation. I went to that appointment like any other girl does on a saturday morning in the summer.. Shorts, tshirt no makeup. Yeah.. I met my husband looking a hot mess. We spent that summer together learning more about each other and had so much fun falling in love during our dating days. We dated for a little over two years before getting married on June 18, 2011 outside at my uncles farm where my parents had gotten married. Here we are almost 4 years later and I love him more now than I did that day and even yesterday. Rich is not only a man of God but an amazing husband, dad and my best friend!
Adoption
Adoption was placed on my heart years before Rich and I were even married. We talked about it when we started to become serious. Rich is from a large family, He has 32 first cousins and 23 are BOYS! I wanted 6 kids.. until we got married ha! He is a big kid himself so we agreed we both wanted 3 or 4! Since we did want a large family we started trying to get pregnant not long after getting married. After a year of not being able to concieve I decided to go to the dr about it. After many ups and downs struggling with infertilty, We decided to stop all the heartaches and focus on adoption. I am so thankful God placed adoption on our hearts before I knew there was any type of issue. Adoption was NOT a "second option" for us and we were full of joy that Gods plan to grow our family was through adoption!

CrossFit
If you're reading this blog for CrossFit advice you should go ahead and look for something else :) I am married to the 4x fittest man on earth and DO NOT do CrossFit (confession) I will talk about it since it does have a massive impact on our life. CrossFit has allowed us to travel around the world and make friends along the way. We have seen and been more places than couples our age. CrossFit has been more than just Richs job it has been a huge blessing in our lives. I find such joy watching him compete and humbled that his job is also his passion. Rich has inspired people all around the world not only by CrossFit but by his open relationship with God.
Absolutely beautiful first post!! I love how God works in our lives in the most amazing ways and ways we never expected. My best friend has struggled with infertility and it was heartbreaking to watch her be defeated over and over again by it. God provided her an answer and it's a blessing that he provided your family an answer too. The way God orchestrates our lives is beautiful, but it surely doesn't always make sense to us. God bless!!

As moms, we need to set a good example, whether it's service and kindness to others, love of Christ and family or academic achievement. What will you say someday if/when your kids come home from school with an C or F grade for their English class?

I just watched Richs movie on Netflix. I watched it initially to find motivation for my own selfish desire to get fit again however I left feeling uplifted in Jesus name as I too am a Christian and devote my life to Christ.
